This blog exists to set up and discuss challenges. One such challenge is a Reading Challenge, which aims to fundraise for children of the Congo project which the school supports. It joins the many fundraising activites of our school which support the poor in African countries such as the Congo and Tanzania.
For many children in the Congo, education is a huge privilege not a right as it is here in Australia. Very few finish school beyond primary school which continues the poverty cycle in which they are trapped.
In recent years school tours to Tanzania have exposed students to the many challenges faced daily by its residents, and issues these raise will also be discussed here.
An overall challenge for us is to think of how we might support our needy brothers and sisters no matter how distant they might be from our shores. This blog will present just a few – unless you are able to suggest more!! And here is the place to do it. Read carefully and think wisely.
